Catholic Vote President Brian Burch said far left activists who support the transgender movement “even defend the men who would expose themselves to young girls” in women’s locker rooms.
"We should be able to agree that biological men should not be using the same locker rooms and washrooms where little girls are undressing,” Burch told Mid Coast Times. “Unfortunately, some in our society have moved so far away from common sense that they even defend the men who would expose themselves to young girls."
Madeline Leesman at Townhall.com reported on an incident at a public swimming pool in Newport, Oregon where a “transgender male” was undressing in front of women and children in the women’s locker room.
Linda Dinerstein, a Newport resident, said at a city council meeting: “I personally witnessed a person who appeared to be a man, openly dressing in the women's locker room. It was later communicated by the rec center that this was a biological female that was in the process of transitioning." Dinerstein also said, "We do not want our children to see persons of the opposite sex or persons transitioning to the opposite sex undressed or nude."
Far-left activists defended the right of the "transgender male” to use the women's restroom and locker room, and the local political leadership of Newport has "showed support for transgender people using the restrooms that do not align with their biological sex." The Daily Mail has noted that "Oregon requires equal accommodations regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity or other backgrounds."
Leesman wrote that a similar situation occurred in Washington state in 2022, where an 80-year-old woman was banned from a community pool after telling a biological male employee to leave the women’s locker room. "I looked over and saw a man in a woman’s bathing suit watching maybe four or five little girls pulling down their suits in order to use the toilets,” Jaman said. “And I told that man to get out right now.” An employee of the pool banned Jaman, calling her behavior "discriminatory."
