Oregon State gymnast Jade Carey earned her first weekly award of the 2023 season and 10th of her career taking home Gymnast of the Week honors, as announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.

The sophomore posted perfect 10s on floor and vault at the Wasatch Classic on Saturday evening. Her all-around score of 39.775 at the meet ranks tied for sixth all-time in program history with Carey holding all the spots in front of it.

She currently ranks second in the country in the all-around and is the only NCAA gymnast with a 10.000 on vault thus far. Carey has now won 50 individual event titles, including 12 all-around.

The Olympic gold medalist has now grabbed conference awards in eight of the 11 competition weeks in her career for the Orange & Black.

Carey became just the second GymBeav to record a pair of perfect scores in a meet, joining Chari Knight, who accomplished the feat back in 1993 at the Husky Classic in Seattle.

For Carey, it marked the third perfect 10 on floor during her collegiate career for the 2020 Olympic Gold Medalist in the event, while the 10 on vault was the first of her career.

Carey and the GymBeavs open the 2023 home schedule by welcoming No. 8 Denver, Brown and Sacramento State to Gill Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m.

Season and single-meet tickets for the 2023 Oregon State gymnastics season are available for purchase HERE or by calling 1-800-GO-BEAVS.
