The Oregon State women's golf team finds itself in sixth place after 36 holes Monday at the USF Intercollegiate at the par-71, 5,976-yard Ocean Course at the Olympic Club.
The Beavers were led by Kelsey Webster, who shot a 1-under 141 over the 36 to place in a tie for sixth. Webster picked up a 2-under 69 in the second round after opening with a 1-over 72. She tied for third in the field with 28 holes at par and was among the leaders with five birdies.
Webster was followed closely by Amanda Minni, who was one stroke behind via par at 142. She is tied for ninth after the first day of action. Minni parred on 26 holes and tied Webster for the team lead with five birdies.
Maddie Sund ended day one with a 3-over 145, completing her day at par. Sund is tied for 18th entering the third and final round Tuesday. She was just behind Webster and Minni with four birdies, and finished at par on 25 of the day's 36 holes.
Danique Stokmans and Kyra Ly both tied for 44th at 10-over 152. Ly finished at par on 27 holes and she and Stokmans both totaled one birdie on the day.The final round of the two-day, 54-hole tournament begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday with tee times off the first hole.
