From the Linn County Sheriff's Office
Power shut-off update
Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan wants to inform county residents that power has begun being shut-off by Pacific Power to certain customers in high impact areas of our fire weather event.
Pacific Power has been making efforts to alert affected customers via customer contact information of imminent power shutoff about one-hour in advance of the shutoff. Both CPI and Pacific Power are continuing to monitor the high winds, low humidity and high heat conditions.
Citizens are reminded that Pacific Power has set up a Community Resource Center at Sankey Park (877 14th Ave, Sweet Home) which includes cooling areas, power charging of medical devices, and more.
An additional Community Resource Center from Pacific Power is set up at Bethel Baptist Church (645 Cleveland Street, Aumsville). There are additional community cooling center for residents to use at Sweet Home Police Department (1950 Main Street) and Silverton Senior Center (115 Westfield Ave)
Citizens are encouraged to call the numbers below, or visit their utility company’s website, where you can enter your address and find specific information about outages. Sheriff Duncan emphasizes the importance of updating your contact information with your utility providers and signing up for outage alerts, to ensure you are notified in advance of power shutoffs, and when power has been restored.
For CPI customers, more information is available at outage.cpi.coop, and by calling 1-800-872-9036
For Pacific Power customers, more information is available at www.pacificpower.net/PSPS and by calling 1-888-221-7070
Sheriff Duncan has activated a non-emergency call center at the Sheriff’s Office for citizens to utilize for information and resources related to power shutoffs, cooling shelters, and more. Citizens are asked to call 1-877-570-0828 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday of this event.
