Oregon State second baseman Travis Bazzana has been named a First-Team Freshman All-American and right-handed pitcher Ryan Brown a second-team selection, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced Monday.
Both have been recognized for the second time this year with each earning Collegiate Baseball recognition earlier this month.
Bazzana, who hails from Sydney, Australia, comes into Monday afternoon's Super Regional finale batting .311 with 16 doubles, four triples, six home runs and 44 runs batted in. He hit a solo home run Sunday to keep the Beavers' season alive.
Brown, a Salem, Ore., native, is among the Pac-12 Conference's leaders with nine saves this season. He is 5-1 with a 5.23 earned run average and has held opponents to 27 hits in 31 innings while striking out 36.
Bazzana, Brown and the Beavers are set for the deciding game of the Corvallis Super Regional Monday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. PT. The game will air live on ESPN2.
