Taylor Jones and Isabella Mitchell have been named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team, with 14 other Oregon State rowers earning Honorable Mention honors, the conference announced on May 14.
The recognition highlights student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, contribute significantly to their teams, and are in at least their second year at their school. This award underscores the importance of balancing athletic performance with academic achievement for collegiate athletes.
Jones competed in all four spring regattas this season, starting in the first varsity four before moving into the second varsity eight for Oregon State’s matchup against Washington State. During her time in these boats, Jones helped secure wins over Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Gonzaga and Washington State. Mitchell also participated in all four spring regattas and contributed to victories over Gonzaga and Portland at the Oregon State Invite as well as other Big Ten schools in April.
In addition to Jones and Mitchell’s All-Academic Team selection, Tulla Angeley, Margo Calub, Giulia Clerici, Taylor Denger, Madison Ezzell, Roisin Kruse, Charlotte Lightfoot, Rhi Loughnan, Quincey Ludwig, Ashtyn Miller, Katie Myers, Vivian Strayer, Grace Sansoterra and Linda Weitmann were named All-Academic Honorable Mention for their academic accomplishments while competing for Oregon State.
Oregon State women’s rowing is set to compete in the West Coast Conference Championships this weekend at Lake Natoma in Gold River across two days of racing. The full list of honorees from all participating schools was also released by the conference alongside this announcement.
Looking ahead to championship weekend and beyond reflects not only on athletic goals but also on continued academic success among student-athletes.
