Oregon State returns to Gill Coliseum this weekend for a three-game league homestand that starts with the Washington schools coming to town.
The Beavers host the Cougars on Friday for their annual Dam Worth It mental health awareness game before Sunday’s Dam Cancer game against Washington. Fans and student-athletes will have the opportunity to donate their hair to cancer patients on the Gill Coliseum floor after Sunday’s game.

MEET THE VISITORS
Washington State holds an 11-4 record with a 1-3 league record coming off its second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Cougs recently got league-leading scorer (21.5 ppg) Christine Leger-Walker back. The junior is shooting 49.2 percent from the floor and 43.2 percent from three as one of three double-figure scorers for Wazzu.
Washington holds a 9-5 overall record with a 1-3 mark in Pac-12 play entering the weekend. The Huskies lone league win came at the expense of the Cougs and overcame 40 points from Leger-Walker. Dalayah Daniels leads the team in scoring with 11.6 points per game and Haley van Dyke, who scored her 1,000th point this season, ranks second with 8.8 points per game.
DEVELOPING IN THE POST
Jelena Mitrovic has experienced exponential growth since coming to Corvallis nearly four years ago. The redshirt sophomore sat all of her first season at Oregon State before playing sparingly as a redshirt freshman. She earned a spot in the rotation last season and gained a starting spot for the WNIT before carrying that spot into 2022 with 13 starts to begin the season.

SOMETHING’S BREWING
Raegan Beers is also among the most efficient freshmen in the country with her scoring. Among the 62 freshman in the nation averaging at least 10 points/game, the Coloradan ranks first in FG%, making 60.7% of her shots. Beers also ranks in the 96th percentile in points per play (1.08) and points per scoring attempt (1.27) with a Player Efficiency Rating of 37.4, one of just six freshmen in the country over 30 (HHS).
DEFENSIVE GAMECHANGER
Bendu Yeaney’s arrival in Corvallis gives the Beavers a powerful on-ball defender they haven’t had since the days of Gabby Hansen. Yeaney, a transfer from Arizona, has racked up 20 three-steal games over the last three seasons with her team going 14-6 in those contests. The senior has also had at least one steal and one block in 40 games in her career. Her team is 32-8 in those games.
