Linn-Benton Community College Appoints Jeff Davis to the Board of Education

The Linn-Benton Community College Board of Education appointed Jeff Davis of Corvallis as the board representative for Zone 6-7B at its meeting on January 18. Davis will serve on the board through June 30, 2023 and will have the option to run in the May 2023 Special Election to fill this seat for a four-year term.

“Jeff’s connection to the Corvallis community and his passion for higher education is astounding,” said LBCC Board of Education Chair Kristin Adams. “Higher education is swiftly changing and LBCC needs to be equipped with diverse thinking and guidance as we look to continue our strong community connection.  We’re excited to have Jeff’s expertise through this journey.”

Davis has been involved with Linn-Benton Community College since the 1980s as a student, volunteer, instructor, club advisor, and most recently as an administrator before retirement earlier this month. His community involvement has included roles with the Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Corvallis, and several other community-based organizations.

“This appointment to the Board of Education has truly brought my LB journey full circle,” said Davis. “I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to an organization that has been life-changing for myself and so many others.”

Davis replaces Tony Lapiz, who served the college since 2019 and resigned in 2022.
