The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has announced a scheduled test of the Linn-Benton ALERT Emergency Notification System. The test will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. and will include all of Benton County.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, traditional landline phones listed in the 9-1-1 database will receive the test message. In addition, individuals who have registered other devices with Linn-Benton ALERT will also get the notification.
The Linn-Benton ALERT system is designed to allow public safety officials to quickly notify residents in Linn and Benton counties about emergencies, evacuations, or other urgent events.
“There will be no reason to call the Sheriff’s Office once you receive the message; please do not dial 9-1-1,” stated the announcement.
Residents interested in receiving these alerts can sign up for the system and find more information about emergency preparedness on the Benton County Sheriff’s website at https://sheriff.bentoncountyor.gov/linn-benton-alert/. Each person in a household who wants to get alerts must create their own profile or account. Once registered, users will receive notifications related to emergencies in their area.
For further questions about the mass notification system, people can email emergencymanagement@bentoncountyor.gov or call 541-766-6864.
